What are Veneers?

Veneers are very thin porcelain shells that are placed on the outer or front part of the teeth to improve the appearance of a smile. A veneer treatment at New Kings Road Dental Practice offers quick cosmetic dentistry improvements, and is sometimes called “instant orthodontics” because of the fast and dramatic aesthetic improvement compared to the long waiting for results that come from dental braces.

The porcelain material of veneers can easily be customised to precisely match the shade of your natural teeth, so you can smile with confidence without worrying about one or a few of your (treated) teeth looking unnatural with a different shade compared to the rest of your teeth.

What Conditions are improved with Porcelain Veneers?
  • Decayed or damaged teeth – The damaged or decayed portion can be covered with the porcelain shells to improve aesthetics.

  • Chipped teeth – A chipped tooth is covered and restored with a veneer.

  • Broken teeth – A veneer is used to cover and protect a broken tooth.

  • Teeth gaps – Gaps between teeth are filled out with a veneer treatment. A smile looks more complete and attractive when these unsightly spaces are filled with the porcelain shells.

  • Teeth stains or discolouration – Discolouration and stains that cannot be removed with teeth whitening can be covered with porcelain veneers. The veneers will be used to cover the stained or discoloured teeth to improve the brightness of the smile.

  • Misshapen teeth – The appearance of teeth that are badly or irregularly-shaped can be improved with the thin porcelain shells. The smile is improved as all teeth take on a more uniform appearance, without one or several teeth being noticeably irregular in shape.

  • Crooked teeth (minor teeth misalignment) – Minor teeth crookedness is addressed with veneers, which are sometimes referred to as “instant orthodontics”. After the placement of veneers, the smile looks straighter and more even, as if an orthodontic treatment has been completed.

What are Emax Veneers?

Emax veneers are made up of a high-strength porcelain material which is custom-made to match the shade of the rest of the natural teeth, providing quick cosmetic dentistry improvements. The durability and superior strength of Emax veneers used by NKRD cosmetic dentists make it possible for these porcelain shells to be produced in very thin layers, making them less bulky than other types of porcelain veneers.

Worried about too much teeth drilling? You may not need to go through the drilling process at all with Emax veneers at NKRD!

The thinness of Emax veneers also allow them to be bonded to affected teeth with very little to zero removal of healthy teeth structure. With Emax porcelain veneers, there is no need to drill or shape the tooth to a point resembling a peg – a necessity when using other porcelain veneer systems which need to have more space for the veneers to successfully be placed on top of the tooth.

We do almost every brand for veneers depending on what works best for patient clinically, and in terms of cost & affordability.
